Taxis Albufeira assists the elderly and chronically ill in obtaining prescriptions from pharmacies.

Following the evolution of the COVID-19 epidemic outbreak in recent days, Taxis Albufeira will provide support to elderly and chronically ill people living alone, without family support, in collecting prescriptions from pharmacies.

Taxis Albufeira is collaborating with Albufeira Social Action, the Albufeira City Council, and Civil Protection in this solidarity action.

This will be a voluntary service, free of charge for people in these situations, considering that they belong to the risk group for infection by the new coronavirus, due to underlying health problems associated with age and illness.

The taxi driver, properly protected according to the recommendations of the State Health Department, will go to the homes of people identified by Social Action to collect the medical prescription so they can go to the pharmacy to get the necessary medication. On-site, they will check for food shortages, delivering them within an estimated 24 hours.
